Jesus Christ Donkey
Jesus Christ Donkey
The donkey is not an animal that get a lot of recognition worldwide. Even though it is apart of the equine family, it is like the bad stepchild nobody cares about. The most popular equine of course is the horse, as it is loved for its devotion, beauty, strength and speed. But what qualities does a Donkey have? Why did Jesus Christ decide to ride a Donkey into Jerusalem and not a beautiful strong horse? Well, there is much more to the donkey that meets the eye. Let us look at a few speculations as to why Jesus chose a donkey instead of a horse to ride into Jerusalem.

1. Humble Yet Brave
Unlike horses which normally have a boastful and proud posture, donkeys seems to be much more humble. But The donkey has a lot of heart under neath that fur. Donkeys aren't afraid to run off vermin or even the house dog away from it's barn. Donkeys will chase away coyotes, dogs, wild pigs and other small animals. Not many horses will stand up to anything that makes noise. Jesus knew that donkeys have a humble and brave heart and preferred to be riding this slow yet paced animal.

2. Wonderful Temperament
The nature of the donkey seems to be of a quiet one. They do not like a lot of noises around them and prefer an environment which is soothing and mellow. Donkeys seem to like order. A trait of the creator himself. Donkeys possess soft velvet muzzles and are capable of even taking the smallest treat from your hand without touching your fingers.

3. Great Footing
Tell me, have you ever seen someone trying to get around a narrow mountain side using a horse? If they do, they probably haven't met the Donkey. Donkeys are sure footed animals and well balanced.Jesus himself understood this and used a donkey.

Jesus Was No War Monger
Jesus rode a donkey as a symbol of peace. His entry into Jerusalem on a donkey symbolizes total humbleness and peace. The Prince of peace to be exact. He boasted no power, no greatness, just the word of the living God and love for the people. His arrival on the donkey made the regular people see Jesus as one of them and not one who is high and might in the sight of man.

Could he have Chosen a Horse?
Well, Jesus could have chosen whatever beast he prayed for his father to give him, but as a man of true goodness, he had to choose an animal which represented that true goodness. No horse or camel could have possessed the beautiful temperament of the Donkey.
