Can Cats Really Sing? - Sounds Cats Make

The wail
Now what is this God darn cats problem. How come you went outside chasing after Jerry and the cant get back in and sit outside wailing at me to look at you to open the door. Ok, you can run right back in sweety, leave the mouse outside! Cats will wail when they are trying to get attention and are being ignored and decide to top up their presence a notch by bellowing that wailing sound.

If you have ever been around a lot of cats you would know the vast array of sound that these cats make. When cats come together you get one of the biggest feline choir possible. Cats make various sounds and some do sound like they are learning to speak English for the first time and sometimes sounds as if they have a bad cold and trying to sing. The common purr and meow is just the basics of these singing cat vocals. Lets dive into the throat of our feline friends to see what sound come from there. Lets go!

Cat Sounds

So What About The Singing Cats
We have looked at some of the more common cat sounds and when the cats meet for their weekly "lets annoy the sleep out of bob tonight convention" and they all begin to vocalize in the alley. It will take much more than the throwing of a cheesy shoe to get this feline choir to shut up. When cats prowl at nights and meet up with their buddy's and all get tipsy on a few fish heads. They will feel quite harmonious and will sing to you a mixture of songs only fitting for the deaf. When they combine all the sounds mentioned above and begin their America got talent career. It will be one journey your ears will not want to partake of. Just remember to have a pair of ear plugs ready so when these stars begin their concert, you wont be jamming to it.

Sounds That Cats Make

Purring Cat
That sweet cuddly type sound that the cat makes, tend to make us believe that he is worshiping us and is totally adored by him. Well, that is part true as cats do purr when the fell happy, at rest and well contented. Some cat experts (like myself) would say that the cats purr when they are in love and uses the purr to express deeper emotions. They myth behind purring is that it has certain healing properties. Different frequencies of purrs are believed to have different healing powers.

The Meow
Have you ever sat and looked at a cat or kitten when they are doing the meow (not a cat dance). It would almost look as though they have lost something or someone and are actually sending out what seems to be a distress signal to pinpoint their location or for other cats to pinpoint their location in order to zoom in.  Sometimes the cat will meow to a human as though it is trying to tell you something important, such as "hey, let me out the darn house let me go climb a tree" something like that.

Hissing
It rhymes with kissing, but when cats begin to hiss they are in no kissing mood. Normally cats begin to hiss when they are probably cornered and knows that their life is in danger. This is a warning sound to back the hell up or face the claws!

Growling
What more can i say, growling speaks for itself, any animal which begins to growl at you or another animal is signalling that something not pleasant will be bestowed upon you if you do not get away or leave the animal alone. Humans sometimes growl at each other, i growl when i don;t get the biggest piece of pork chops. I would look at my sweet wife and do a little growling. Then she would slap me across the head and say stop acting like our pets. geesh!

Chattering Cat
Have you ever heard the sound of cat chatter, it sounds like frustration and excitement mixed with too much coffee. The cat will chatter when it feels too much locked down and just cant get to do what it really wants. Say for example he sees a bird outside and wants to go tiger! he may begin to scratch at the winder while uttering things like *&$#@, things not suitable to type on this blog! The cat chattering is basically a sign of frustration.

Yowling
Who else knows that when a female cat yowls, she is feeling quite romantic and is just not shy in letting any male cats around knows that she is willing and waiting.....did someone say kittens?

 The scream
When the cat screams, it can mean too things. It is ready to jump war any one in its way immediately without any hesitation or it may have been surprised by pain. Well, for example the cat is sleeping somewhere and you accidentally stepped on his paw, he will let out a scream and probably do a little dash. After he comes out of shock he will realize you meant him no harm and you are good and chummy again.

Do Cats Really Have 9 Lives? History Behind The Myth

Picture
This is a myth that have been in circulating from before i transformed from a cat into my Human form. Now i m stuck as a god darn human. What rotten luck. Well as a person who was once living as a cat, i can tell you straight up that no cats have 9 lives. RIP Pete. There are many stories about which explains the nine life saga of cats but i will share with you two of which is most popular.

Story 1
Long ago, it is said that a cat entered a dwelling of some very poor folks. The house had nine starving children and all were asleep. There was a meal set aside for these children, so when they woke up, they would have had that meal. The meal was nine fishes on nine plates. The cat as hungry as he was and unable to control himself, ate all 9 fishes. He was stuffed and later died from over eating. The starving kids then woke up and saw that nothing was there for them to eat and cried and then eventually died. When the cat was walking to the gates of heaven, his profile was read and they saw what he did to allow the children to die. The cat was kicked out of heaven and fell for nine days before reaching earth. So the cat has the nine starving children on his shoulder and will have to die nine times to enter the gates of heaven.

Cats Only Have One Life
If you are a cat owner, don't go thinking your cat has nine lives and then throws him off the bridge in the ocean thinking he is going to magically appear at your doorstep a couple hours. You would have just committed animal cruelty and i will be the first to squeal to the animal cops on you. Cats have a knack to escape many life threatening situations due to their natural instincts and agility. They also do have a tendency to land on their four feets if they should encounter a fall. But guess what, not all they time do they land on their four feet. That is also another myth. So because they escape death a lot many would say the cat has more than one life, for me that is just pure luck and instincts.
Story 2
There is an old English proverb that states" A cat has nine lives"
For 3 he plays
For 3 he strays
For 3 he stays
This old English proverb could be where the myth actually started from.  But this is just an old folk lore and is nothing serious in nature. The maker of this lore was probably describing the common cats behavior. Cats are said to be magical creatures and the number 9 is supposed to be a magical number. There you have it. the magic cat with the magic number 9.

Maine Coon Kittens
If you are looking for a particular breed of kitten(s) to buy.  My favorite is the Maine Coon Kittens.
Main Coons are the largest domesticated cat breeds. Once you see a coon cat you will know it different than any other breed because of its distinctive physical appearance. The Coon Cat is a very good hunter and will be sure to catch any mice and lizards in your home or yard.  Of course you will find Maine coon kittens for sale at a variety of pet stores, but if you are lucky and blessed you can ask around and see if you can get one of these sweet kittens for free.

Where to buy kittens?
Sometimes i am seen with my cat named Tiger and a couple times i give her her own little free time to go do her thing, you know we all have to get a little groove on right? Anyway, when she mates and produces her kittens, when they are strong and healthy after sucking milk from their mothers titties. Sometimes i would place them in my safe kitten carry pouch and just take them for a little fresh air. People would see them and be like "Om my Gosh, they are soooo cute, where do you get kittens?" I ask myself sometimes, Is that a real question, should i answer or just pretend smile and move along? mmmmm choices, choices! For the people who don't know where they can get kittens; here are the location of the hidden kitten mystery.

kitten Rescue And Adaption

Thousand of kittens are rescued yearly. These kittens are either left unattended by their owners, the mom has died or the animals were to be put to sleep (Euthanasia). There are great organizations that have gone and collected these poor kittens and have paid some huge vet bills to patch and fix up those sick and broken cats. You can help out these kind organizations by visiting and acquiring a kitten from them.

Visit a Pet Shop
For those people who prefer not to choose a broken cat and nourish that animal and fill its little heart with care and love, you can simply go to the pet store and buy a kitten. The advantages of buying a kitten than adapting a rescued kitten is that you are sure to have the kittens medical records available and at that very moment the kitten is in good physical health.

If you are one of those person on the net searching for kittens.....awwww....that's so sweet of you. But this is what i tell all those kitten lovers out there, kittens do grow, mature and become that acrobatic, always landing on four feet, nine lives, playful and fun loving cat we all love. Well, with that said....lets get into some kit bits.
Kittens Dietary Needs
Kittens have a high need for meals rich in amino acids, a few vitamins, minerals and of course protein.  They will of course need meals with fat and a little fatty acid. Kittens will eventually become cats and cats gets most of their energy from protein, so a few sardines and tuna in your kittens plate will make him believe that he is in cat heaven.

Where will my kitten sleep
Your kitten will need to be kept warm, if the kitten was with mom. He would have snuggled in quite cozily beside her. So you will need to either have that kitten snuggle under the sheets with you or go out and acquire a cat bed to allow your kitten to sleep warm and comfortable. If you don't want the kitten in bed with you and you cant afford a cat bed right now, you can make a temporary cat bed out of a cardboard box and an old blanket. Here are the steps:
  1. Get a nice card board box that the kitten can walk out and in easily.
  2. Get and old blanket or towel and place it inside the box and ensure that all the cardboard is covered with the blanket or towel.
  3. Wrap the blanket under the box to prevent shifting. Throw in a little cushion in the box and place your kitten in his temporary sleeping bed.
How Long Will the Kitten Sleep?
If you think you love your bed, think again. Kittens are real zzzzers! Kittens will sleep anywhere between 15 to 18 hours a day. So when they feed they may just simply go sleep, this is also what helps them to bulk up.

Kitten Care
Now that you have finally found your hearts desire, the next step is simply providing the best care for your little kitten.

What Do Kittens Eat?
During the first 4 weeks, the kittens must only feed on their mothers milk. If the mother is not around, you must find cat milk substitute, make sure to consult a vet regarding this.  After the 4 weeks have passed, it is now OK for you to give the kitten delicious kitten food. By then the kitten should be fully weaned from the mothers nipples or cat milk substitute.

Kittens high Energy Needs
Don't be alarmed if you notice that your kitten weight as actually doubled or near triple during the first few weeks. That is a natural transition of a healthy kitten. This explosive weight gain is simply to support the kittens fast growth and its high agility levels. What this means is that the kitten will demand more food and of course will need to be fed more often. You may have to feed the kitten at least 4 times per day. Please do not pour out a two pound bag of feed in the poor kittens dish, but feed sparingly.

Play Time With Kitty
Don't be too alarm if you see you kitten jumping and skidding and pawing and even scratching. Kittens will definitely play rough as this is what they do naturally and instinctively. They are actually small predators and when they play it is actually a predatory instinct that is being used. After time they will adjust to a more homely stance, but once a predator, always a predator. It would be good if you also acquire a scratch pad or post for the kitten and teach him to scratch there as no matter what, it is just in built in module in cats that programs them to scratch.

Kitten Health
Ensure that you bring your kitten to the vet for the proper vaccinations. You wouldn't want to risk your kitten developing any serious health issues such as  Infectious Enteritis (Panleucopenia), Leukaemia and ‘Cat Flu’ (Infectious Respiratory Disease). Remember that at this young age, kittens defenses are not that strong and the best option is to ensure that the kitten will not catch these illnesses.

Worms and Fleas
Just like a adult cat, the kitten is susceptible to catching worms and fleas. Consult your vet on when and how to de worm your kitten. It is important that at any point if you choose to apply oral medicine. if you are not sure how to do this consult your vet. Best ways to get rid of kitten fleas.

Show Your Kittens Some Love and Attention
One of the most important part in kitten care is to spend time with your kitten and show some love and attention. This will help to foster trust and you kitten will grow physically, mentally and emotionally strong.
