There are some people who go for cute, quite, small and fuzzy, but there are those among us who like large, cute, fuzzy and agile. Large cat breeds are just as fun and lovable as small breeds. Here is a list of Large cat breeds you may like.
Savannah Cat
Savannah Cat
1.  Savannah cat
Look at the gorgeous fella. The Savannah cat. The Savannah cat is said to be the largest domestic cat breed. This large is a mix of cross breeding the Siamese cat with the Serval cat. The Serval cat is one of Africa's wild cats. These large cats are not much different than regular cat breeds, but the Savannah cat still possesses that wild hunting instincts much more than the common domestic cat. What this really means is that make sure you don't have any chickens or other pet birds around. You may come home seeing your Savannah licking his lips with a feather stuck to the side.   So how big does the Savannah really get? The Savannah can reach well over 25 pounds up to 30 pounds. That's a lot of weight for a cat. This cat is even bigger than a lot of toy dogs.
Ragdoll Cat

2. Ragdoll Cat
This is not a stuffed toy sold in a toy shop. The Ragdoll is a large cat with very long hair. Almost like the rock-star of the cat world. This beautiful and calm feline is one of the large cat breeds. Talk about being cool and the ragdoll is second to none. This cat has a nice calm temperament and people who love cats but prefer the quieter or not so active feline will find the ragdoll their perfect choice. But quite does not mean that this feline doesn't require the love and affection it still craves. The male ragdolls can weigh in at 15-20 pounds while females start at a much lighter weight of 10-pounds.

American Bobtail Cat
3. The American Bobtail
The Bobtail cat is basically a large cat breed which has a very short tail. The word "bob" is short for Bobbette. Which means cut off. The American Bob Tail cat is not the only known "bob" in this class. There are Japanese Bob tails and also the Kurlian Bob tail.  The Bobtail cat’s short or absent tail comes about due to a genetic mutation such as is found in the Manx cat, leading to the development of a stunted tail or no tail at all. The American Bobtail is the largest of the Bobtail cat types, with females averaging 7-11lb and males reaching 12-16lb as standard.
Maine Coon

4. Maine Coon
It is believed that the Maine Coon Cat is the largest domestic cat breed that has no direct relations to wild cats much like the Savannah Cat does. These large pussy cats make great pets with their distinguished size (long and tall), coat and are very friendly. These cat giants require as much care as any other cat but may be less demanding for your attention. The females weigh in at 10-15lbs, while the males weigh in at 15-25lbs.
Chausie Cat

5. Chausie
No, not Chausie the Chaplain, but the Chausie Cat.  These distinctive looking cats are loved by millions of cat owners, especially those in the United Kingdom.  They are an attractive looking cat with an appearance similar to the jungle cats from whom they descend. Fourth generation and Chausie cats even more distantly removed from their wild ancestors are considered to be suitable for general domestic ownership. The female Chausie can range from 8-15lb in weight, while the males can reach up to 22lb
Norwegian Forest Cat

6. Norwegian Forest Cat
This hairy feline breed is from Norway and can be seen lounging around in the forest or stalking small birds and rodents.  The long hair on this cat is useful for extremely cold climates as it helps keep the cat warm. This feline has a good length and can reach up to 15 lbs in females and for males approximately 15-20lbs.
Ragamuffin Cat

7. Ragamuffin Cat
The reason why this cat may remind you of the ragdoll cat is because they are related. It also shares many genetic traits of the Ragdoll Cat. The Ragamuffin can reach around 10-15lb for females and as much as 20lb for males.
Siberian Cat

8. The Siberian Cat
When cat and Siberia comes together, many people begin to think large tigers. But this Siberian cat I speak of is much smaller than the Siberian Tiger, doesn't take down large preys and you most certainly would not be scared of touching or holding it. I am speaking of the Domestic Siberian Cat. If you are suffering from dander caused by cats that trigger your allergy, then this cat may be right for you as they produce much less Fel D1 protein that is the common allergenic trigger.  This chunky, yet firm built cat comes in at 8-12lbs for females and males of 17-22lbs.

6 Steps To Choosing The Best Boarding Facility For Your Cat

Cat Boarding Facilities
Boarding Your Cat
Do you know that some people only associate kennels with dogs. Well, let me just clear the air on that urban legend, kennels are also made to host cats too. But one would wonder, why would i need a kennel for my sweet little ball of fur when she is an indoor cat and is always safe and happy? Well, situations may arise when you just have to leave your cat somewhere for more than a day and you would definitely want you cat somewhere where you are not worried if your feline is OK. What many cat owners do in these situations is to find a reliable and trustworthy pet service which they can use to board their cats.

What Your Pet Boarding Service Should Provide
Once you can afford to board your cat while on your business or vacation trip, you should ensure that your cat is left feeling comfortable. The cat kennels should be large open spaces with many things for the cat to do.

  1. Never board your cat in kennels that are clustered and frightening to the animal, especially if the cat is used to his own space.

  2. Ensure that kennels have advanced towers equipped with facilities that are able to resolve any medical issues which could arise at the kennel. You want to ensure that your cat is given the same and even better treatment as if he was at home with you.

  3. Consider where you board you cat. You don't want your cat boarding next to loud barking dogs. You want to ensure the are is in a safe and clean zone.

  4. Staff members experience is a must for me. I like people who are going to handle my pet to be experienced and professional. How can you be in the business of pet and not own one yourself? This is where you get your first hands on experience. But putting the life of your cat into a rookie is out of the question.

  5. What is the hygiene policy of the boarding facility? You should get everything on black and white. They must tell you how often is litter cleaned, where and what kind of food is given to the cat. How far is the cat feeding facility to the potty area, things like that.

  6. Will your cat be allowed to play daily with his favorite cat toy you will leave with him? or is it an island prison sort of boarding facility?

Leave All Special Instructions With The Boarding Facility
There are some cats which may need some kind of special attention, whether it be medical, diet or simply movement.  Pet owners must pay attention to your cat special needs when choosing a boarding facility. Will the facility offer this type of special care that your cat needs? Always ensure that whichever facility you choose, it should be of the best interest of you cat and not really a choice based on pocket.
