Life Cycle Of the Cat Flea
Fleas are parasites and needs host to survive. They use the host to feed and as a place to lay their eggs to produce more fleas.

  1. The Flea lays its eggs on the cat
  2. The eggs are attached to the fur and then transformed into its larva state
  3. The larva goes through its own transformation and becomes a Flea Pupa
  4. The Flea pupa is then transformed into an adult cat flea to continue the reproductive cycle.

The only one suffering here is the host which is the cat.

So what have you notices lately about your feline companion, other than the fact that she continues to circle your leg and curls up on your foot and lets out gentle purrs. If you notice your cat scratching more often than usual that is normally a sign that kitty has fleas. Well, just to make sure that it is fleas you can simple look for your self. Gently take you hand or a grooming Knit and sieve through the cats fur, if you see some tiny dark looking insects moving away when you sieve through his fur or if you use the grooming knit and you see tiny dark insects moving about on the knit or dead fur, that is probably fleas.
What are the Dangers of Cat Fleas?
Not all cats react normally to having a parasite such as a flea living on them. Some cats will suffer from Flea allergy dermatitis.
When fleas bite a cat,  each bite can cause minor skin irritation, some cats will develop an allergy to the saliva of the flea. What this means is that just one flea bite can result in significant irritation, itchiness and aggravation. Flea allergy dermatitis is an itchy illness and cats will commonly scratch, resulting in hair loss. Sometimes this scratching can become so excessive that even after the loss of hair from the irritated areas, the cat will still scratch repeatedly resulting in damage to the flesh of the animal. Normally situations like this happens when a pet is severely neglected or not-owned.
If you see the slightest chance of this happening, Get Cat Flea Removal Immediately!
Bayer Advantage II, Large Cat, Over 9-Pound, 6-Month
Tapeworms are common parasites which are associated with the cat flea. This is not transmitted when the tick bites, but is transmitted during the cats self Grooming. What this means is that the cat will lick itself during grooming and ingest fleas carrying the tape worm. After ingestion, the tapeworm larva continues to develop in the cat's gastrointestinal tract. When this internal parasite develops, it lashes itself to your cats intestinal track and lays more eggs. Small egg-filled segments periodically break off and are passed out the rectum.  Many may say that the tapeworm is harmless to the cat because it does not make the cat get ill, but in my view most parasites are unpleasant and are up to no good and should be dispensed of immediately.

Hermobartonella is a dangerous blood parasite transmitted by fleas. This parasite is spread when the flea bites the cat. The parasite is transmitted and attaches itself to the red blood cells. What this eventually leads to is the destruction of the blood cells which are oxygenated cells. The cells which brings oxygen to all the cats body. If the cat is infected for a long time without treatment, it will lead to anemia. the cat will become seriously ill and may need to be hospitalized.  The cat may need blood transfusion as well as special antibiotics to help it to recover, even then the chances of your cat surviving is very thin as about one third of cats affected by hemobartonella do not survive even after treatment. in this case Prevention is much better than cure!

Clear The Yard from Fleas.
After you have applied the Bayer Advantage to you adorable feline, the next step is to ensure that the yard is flea free. This should probably have been the first line of difference when it comes on to flea and tick prevention. The yard flea and tick treatment is safe and simply easy to use.

In home Spray
  • Spray all the places where you cat frequents. His bedding and Litter box especially. Fleas like to hang out in cool dark moist places. Ensure that the corners inside and hidden areas are sprayed.
Outside Treatment
  • The first thing you must day outside is to actually clean up the yard if it needs to be. Keep grass at its lowest level and get rid of unwanted bushes and shrubs.  Use the flea and tick home treatment to then spray areas your pet frequents first and then work your way along the entire yard.
Once You are complete and with to venture in other ways to get rid of cat fleas from both your cat and yard, you can look at some of the natural flea and tick treatment solutions.

  • Citrus Cat-  Fleas are known to be repelled by citrus. A freshly squeezed orange or lemon can be rubbed onto your pet's fur, with no harm to your pet if it is licked off, and fresh smelling fur to boot.

  • Shower Time anyone? -Water really does work in getting rid of fleas. Since fleas do not grasp onto the hair shafts, they fall off in the water and drown. A good long dip in a tub of water will wash away most, if not all of the fleas on your pet. This wash can be complemented by using a citrus based shampoo which of course fleas hate. while the cat is shampooed, brush through thoroughly to get rid of all fleas. Then rinse cat and and for a bit of added incentive, dip in fresh lemon water and dry.

  • Cedar Chips in The yard- No, this is not a new flavor from Lays, cedar chips are simply pieces of shavings of  woods from the cedar tree. Cedar chips are another natural way to keep fleas at away. These parasites hate the scent of cedar chips and do their best to avoid them. You can simply sprinkle the chips in those shady areas that fleas frequent in your yard, as well as under the porch,  bedding, and outdoor furniture. You can mow right over cedar chips, turning them into a finer powder that will still repel the fleas. Sprinkle them along your fence to keep fleas from neighboring yards out.

You are now armed with information needed to get rid of fleas in cats. Don't waste time allowing your feline to suffer anyone of the dangers of cat fleas mentioned above. Get all items which you will need to have a cat and yard flea free environment today.
