Pets That May Not Go Well With Your Cat

Having a pet cat is a cool thing. You get to watch her, she watches you. She jumps in your lap, curls up and sleep, while you rub her gently feeling all that "catley" love. But despite how cool our cats are, many of us love different types of animals and seek to have different kinds of animals as our pets. But before you run to the pet store  trying to buy the next tiger shark for your gold fish tank, you have to weigh in on the pet compatible meter as it relates to your cat and it's tolerance to different kind of animals sharing it's space. So here is my own list of various pets which may not work well with your cat.
Lizards
  • Some people actually like having lizards around. Some even take them in as pets. But many of these pet owners normally complain about missing pet lizards. Some believe that lizards are just too free spirited and will eventually roam away. But what many of these lizard pet owners don't tell you is that they also have a cat. That lizard the pet owner keeps on replacing may just be the next item on your cat's menu.

Birds
  • Birds are really tricky animals to keep as pets, much less keep as pets along with your cat. Trust me, i know!, My passed cat Tiger, (May God Bless Her Heavenly Soul). Used to sit for hours very attentively admiring my two budgies in their cages. I came home one day and saw Tiger hitch on the grill trying to access the birds cage. I knew if she had gotten in i would come home to see left over budgies.  Cats just love birds......for dinner that is.

Rabbits
  • Rabbits are cute. They eat, hop and mate. That's pretty much sums up the entire life of a rabbit. Other than hopping away from some canine tooth trying to take it out of existence, the rabbit makes a really dull pet. But for the rabbit lovers, it is not a really wise idea to have bunnies and large domestic cats together. Some rabbit owners introduce the bunny to the kitten and thus the kitten will grow up loving that bunny. But bringing in a bunny rabbit to introduce to your large cat is a no no. Those rough play you see you cat does with the rabbit is just the cat playing with his food before consumption.

Hamsters
  • These cute little guys are loved by many pet owners, but guess what loves them even more. The pet cat. A hamster to your cat is nothing more that a pretty rat that needs to be digested. Avoid hamsters with your feline at all cost.

Dogs
  • Yes, dogs and cats have never been too much of friends. Their worlds are just too far apart. Even though there are so many dog owners who also own cats. It can prove quite difficult for the two long time rivals to become accustomed to each other. As a dog and cat owner myself, there have been several times which i had to intervene in their dog cat affairs. They may scuffle over things like; my dog galloping away at his feeding tray and seek to have a few munches of what is in my cat's feeding tray. My cat will just not have any of that and there lies the problem.

Frogs
  • Frog legs anyone? No, that's not me asking that question. That is the think bubble i just popped out of my cats head. It is good to note however that cats do not mess with some very large frogs such as the African Bullfrog or The Goliath Frog. Those hoppers don't take crap and will try to eat even a new born baby.  But having a much smaller frog may not prove to be such a good idea as your cat may just be in the mood for something that taste like chicken.

Hedgehogs
  • These small little critters are quite affectionate, but may be a little too affectionate for your pet cat. Those spines may cause harm to your cat and you just don't want that at all.
So before you go out picking another pet to introduce to your cat, make sure you weigh in on the compatible issue so that the pet you bring home may not become apart of your cats feeding tray.
