Things Dog Bark At
Woof Woof Woof, you better run else my doggy is going to bite your behind and leave you rolling on the ground. Yeah, that’s me telling a burglar what’s really up! But aside from me pretending to be giving it to a burglar, we know that dogs bark a lot. But what do dogs mostly bark at? Well, here is my list of 5 Things dogs love to bark at.

1. People/Owner
Yeah, it doesn’t matter who you are. It doesn’t matter if you are American, Mexican, and Jamaican or even German, I guarantee that you will be barked at. I want to tell you that dogs do not like everyone and some people just seem to walk with a bad omen. Once that pooch smells that bad omen on you it will react by barking at you to let you know that you and him are not cool.
Now as it relates to it’s owner, the dog will bark for many reason. It will bark to alert you. It will bark to try get your attention. It will bark when it is playing with you.

2. Dogs
Dogs may be man’s best friend, but who is a dog’s best friend? It certainly isn’t other dogs.  Dogs will go into bark mode wacko at the sight of other dogs. They will bark from now until thine kingdom doesn’t come. You see, when dogs see other dogs they think two things.
  1. The other dog wants to get rid of him to eat his food
  2. The other dog wants to get rid of him to eat all of his food.
Yeah, I know the reasons are a little confusing, but just take my word for it okay! Dogs love to mark their territory. And that territory is basically their home. They are the second master of the yard and they will bark to deter other dogs away. They simply believe the other dog is muscling on their block.

3. Cats/ Other Animals

Many pet owners like myself have/had a mix of animals living together such as cats. Dogs, ponies, birds, Bigfoot etc. But on a normal circumstances without trained cohesion. Dogs have no tolerance for other animals especially cats. They will chase them around and bark at them until the cat is too far up the tree to realise it can’t get down.  But aside from the infamous puss. Dogs will bark at any animal insight. They care zero. They will bark at grizzly bears, mountain lions, wolves, etc.

4. Themselves
Have you ever seen your dog staring in the mirror, twisting their heads side to side and using their paws to touch the mirror trying to see if they can connect with the other dog they see? Well, dogs will bark at themselves in the mirror as they have no idea of what a reflection is and that the image they see is of themselves. So they think it’s another dog and hence the barking begins.

5. Toys
Yep, dogs will bark at their toys. Especially those dog toys that are mobile. Dogs love movable and fun toys and they will bark at the toy they are playing with because they feel excited.
