This is a question that many dog and non-dog owners ask a lot. The first thing i always ask them is what would they do if they had a tail? Well, many answered and said they don't know as they have no idea what having a tail would feel like. Well, that is not 100% true. A dog's tail is an extension of the spinal structure of the animal, it's like another limb if you want to call it that. It is just like our hands or feet that is part of a bigger skeletal system which is our body. So us as humans having a tail would simply feel like having another limb besides that hand and feet. But with that being said, a dog's tail is very special to him/her and the animal wags it's tail for various reasons. Lets look at the top 5 reasons why dogs wag their tails.
Reasons Why Dog Wags Tail
So what about dogs who simply can't wag their tail because it has been cut, well i sympathize with those dogs and urge new dog owners and breeders to not cut off the dog's tail as it serves more than just being an extended limb for the animal.
Many may wonder if animals do have emotional feelings and the answer to that is a resounding yes. They are not just dumb animals as many people refer to them, they are just not humans. Your dog does have feelings and sometimes pet owners may simply hurt their dog's feelings without even being aware. If someone shouted at you wouldn't you feel, hurt, embarrassed or angry? Well since your dog will not get angry at you, the only other emotions left are feeling hurt and embarrassed. This will cause your dog to shy away and probably go curl up somewhere and lie down looking at you wondering what it did. Situations will arise when you are upset but remember the count to ten rule. It applies to your dog too.
Telling Your Dog To Get Away
If you have a dog, you must at least spend sometime with the animal. Your dog will come to you for a little emotion and love sharing by either indicating it wants to be petted or played with. If you continue to run away your dog when it seeks a little love you have just destroyed the animals feelings. You can take 10-15 minutes to pet or play with your dog to remind it that it's owner still cares.
Ignoring Your Dog
Sometimes this may be the greatest hurt of them all. You come home and your dog is pumped up with excitement to see you. Little mugs is barking and wagging its tale. Jumping and running around your foot hoping to get a lift, a couple licks and smothering and you simply ignore the animal, walk to your bedroom and slam the door shut. Your dog is there wondering why you didn't notice how happy he was to see you home and just needed you to say hello.
Paying More Attention To Other Animals
Who says that dogs will not get jealous and hurt? Your dog will feel hurt if for some reason you acquire a new pet, bird, cat or pig, And then diverts most or all of your attention to your new found love. Many dogs will feel hurt and simply look for love elsewhere.

Dogs will be dogs, they run jump play, eat and some do eventually get ill. But one of the most common observation one may notice is that the dog begins to limp suddenly. You know he/she was fine yesterday and today you notice a limp. What you need to do is simply remain calm and try to figure out whats going on with your dog. It could be a simple situation or it could turn out to be an emergency. What you observe and find or don't find will be the difference. But remember to always have the closest vet number at hand if you are unsure whats happening to give a call so the vet may advise you. So lets look at some of the steps you should take if you see your dog limping.
Step1 - Look for Cuts
What ever size dog it is, you must first gently look to see if there are any visible cut anywhere on feet, paws, between his legs and reproductive organ, or between legs and chest area. If a cut is observed, ascertain for yourself the severity of the cut, some cuts and bruises which require no stitches can easily be doctored at home. If the cut is minor, you can simply clean the cut with natural disinfectant such as hydrogen peroxide, then you can apply dog wound powder which also has its own disinfectant and helps to heal the wound. What also must be observed is that if the dog is badly cut, there must be something around the yard which would cause such an injury. Search in and outside your home for any boards, nails or sharp metals which could have injured your dog.
Step2 - Gently Feel
If you have a small dog, you can gently lift the animal, place it in your lap and feel areas of your dog which could contribute to limping. If you have a large dog, simply let the dog stand and examine it. If you touch an area and you notice the dog reacts to that area, touch it again to verify reaction and make a note of that area. If you are examining an old dog, it could be a case of joint dysfunction due to old age. Or it could be that your dog simply hit his leg somewhere while running and the area is just soar for a while. Before calling the vet and booking spots for surgery. Let a couple hours or a day pass and see if the limp goes away by it self. If it does go away, it could be just temporary sore muscles. If the limp continues for more than a day, carry the dog to the vet and let it get a full examination.
Arthritis In Dogs

Stone Carved Memorials
Many owners will fancy something being carved to remember their past friend. Stone carved dog memorials are strong and can be cut in just about any shape or size desired. Depending on who does these memorials for you, it can be quite a beautiful piece.
Many people like the fact that they create a painting as a memorial for their passed dog. Paintings are great and captures the enigma of that life at the time.
Pendants, Bracelet and Key chains
There are many who use these items as memorials, but my opinion is that you would want something to stand out when it comes on to remembering your beloved pet. These tiny objects do not. The upside to this is that the memorial will mostly likely be present with you most of the time.
I have known hundreds of pet owners who use the tattoo as a memorial for their dog. They would often tattoo the face or name of the dog on shoulders., arms or legs.
Many owners simply combine images and video of their dog and make beautiful movies and scenery with them. One thing about this is that you get to sit and reflect beautifully using visuals
