Lightening and Thunder
If you have been around dogs as much as i am.  You get to work with a lot of different breeds of dogs which have many different temperament and have developed individual and unique character. You will find brave dogs and you will find not so brave dogs. You will find cute dogs and you will find some handsome ones, and if you are at the right place at the right time you will find some dogs that are afraid of thunder.  The thing about dogs being afraid of thunder is that it doesn't matter the breed of the dog. The dog could be large or small, if they develop a fear of thunder you will definitely know because they can't help but to show it physically.

How Dogs Show They are Afraid of Thunder
When dogs are afraid of thunder they will bend their four legs to lower their body and try to run and find someplace they think is safe where they believe the thunder cannot get to them.  They hear a big roar in the sky that sounds frightening to them and some dogs will immediately think harm and then become fearful that something may happen to them. One should also remember that dogs have super hearing and loud thunder a human hears may magnify a 100 times to the dog's ear.

Why Dogs Become Fearful of Thunder
No one really knows, maybe some dogs just think it is scary. But if you dig a little deeper, it could be that maybe the dog got scared by thunder when it was  puppy and there was no one to comfort the animal and teach him not to fear the thunder.

What To Do If Your Dog Fears Thunder
If your dog is afraid of thunder, he/she will run away and hide or run  to you for protection when he/she hears the thunder. The first thing toy must do is talk to the animal and try to calm it down. Tell you dog it is OK and there is nothing to be afraid of. Just try to comfort the animal. If you are having a thunder storm and have excessive thunders periodically, you could try ear mufflers on your dog to settle him/her down. You can also try the break into method. This method may not be the dog's favorite. You will have to put the dog on a leash, and allow the dog to go through the sound of the thunder while you are by his side.  Then you will have to do certain activities with your dog to take his mind off the sound of the thunder.
  • You can give him a nice doggy treat
  • Introduce a new dog toy
  • Play his favorite game
  • Lie with him on the floor and play with him
  • Pat him down and try grooming him.
It may take some time for your dog to overcome the fear of thunder. But as with any fear, it may take a little time to overcome if any at all. It is something you and your dog may just have to live with, after all, how many times do you hear thunder.

Boxer Dog
Playful Boxer Dog
If you are the owner of a boxer dog or you plan on getting a boxer dog, you must know if that type of dog will be suitable for you. You can know this in two ways; You will either have to research the dog's temperament or dive in blindly and hoping for the best. Well, if you are reading this article it is more than likely you are doing some digging on boxer dog behavior, or you have already acquired a boxer and simply trying to figure out your pet. So what are some of the more distinctive traits of boxers, well lets explore.
  • Loyalty and Self Confidence- The boxer is friendly and very loyal to their owners, the boxer is content on just being with their owner and lying at their feet. Boxer dog owners cherish the devotion this breed gives them. Most vowing to never own another breed of dog. The boxer is a strong and noble breed who exudes self confidence.
  • Affectionate -Natural Child Protector- The boxer dog adores most children and will naturally become playmate and protector of children. Boxers show a devote affection to their owners and strangers when properly socialized and introduced. A behavior which many dog owners will appreciate.
  • The Woo Woo- The "woo woo" is a vocalization that boxer dogs are common for making during play, which is an invitation to play with them or you have something they want. It is quite comical in nature. The boxer is often referred to as the clown of the dog breed.
  • The Wiggle Butt- The "wiggle butt" is an excessive wiggling of the hind quarters that boxer dogs exhibit. It is an excitable gesture, happy to see you as well as a compensation in body language communication to show friendly motives to others including dogs. Boxers are a docked breed, with the docked tail, this behavior serves as an over-exaggeration of friendly tail wagging to let others know they mean no harm.
  • Boxers are real stinkers. Boxer expels flatus (gas) in both silent and out loud fashion in their proximity. The boxer is quite intelligent and will often move away from the bad smell before the owners do.
  • Boxing- The boxer does like to play using its front paws in a boxing motion, looking much like a boxer fighter would in the ring.
  • Mouthing- The boxer dog can be seen quite often play mouthing with another dog or human, making a distinctive moaning vocalization and head tilting motion from side to side with the mouth wide open. It is not a sign of aggression. Young boxer puppies as young as 3-4 weeks old will start this behavior with litter mates. It is a natural play gesture of boxer dogs.
  • Hugging- The boxer does like to hug ( rear up placing paws on your shoulders)and should be taught at an early age not to do it. Especially in homes with children and elderly adults.

Boxers are a wonderful dog breed and is loved by many Americans. They are just as affectionate as any other breed and commits loyalty to its owner.

Dog Loves Donuts
Two of my favorite things are dogs and donuts, and guess what? A dog goes well with having a donuts.  Whenever i take my dog walking i would stop at my favorite coffee shop and order at least three donuts and a cup of coffee of course. The donuts would be of three different flavors or recipes. For my dog venom, i would order a Bacon Maple Bar. This is a raised yeast doughnut topped with maple frosting and bacon strips, it is a pastry for meat lovers such as my dog. For me, i would just order a raspberry jelly filled do-nut and i am good to go. I like donuts and so do my dog. He knows that whenever he goes for walk in that particular direction where the pastry shop is, he turns directly toward it, no questions asked. What could be more fulfilling than enjoying a good donuts with one of the best animals in the world. So the next time you take your dog walking, find a good pastry shop which sells the Bacon Maple Bar doughnut and treat yourself and your dog to some good pastry.
