Dogs Bark At
Things Dog Bark At
Woof Woof Woof, you better run else my doggy is going to bite your behind and leave you rolling on the ground. Yeah, that’s me telling a burglar what’s really up! But aside from me pretending to be giving it to a burglar, we know that dogs bark a lot. But what do dogs mostly bark at? Well, here is my list of 5 Things dogs love to bark at.

1. People/Owner
Yeah, it doesn’t matter who you are. It doesn’t matter if you are American, Mexican, and Jamaican or even German, I guarantee that you will be barked at. I want to tell you that dogs do not like everyone and some people just seem to walk with a bad omen. Once that pooch smells that bad omen on you it will react by barking at you to let you know that you and him are not cool.
Now as it relates to it’s owner, the dog will bark for many reason. It will bark to alert you. It will bark to try get your attention. It will bark when it is playing with you.

2. Dogs
Dogs may be man’s best friend, but who is a dog’s best friend? It certainly isn’t other dogs.  Dogs will go into bark mode wacko at the sight of other dogs. They will bark from now until thine kingdom doesn’t come. You see, when dogs see other dogs they think two things.
  1. The other dog wants to get rid of him to eat his food
  2. The other dog wants to get rid of him to eat all of his food.
Yeah, I know the reasons are a little confusing, but just take my word for it okay! Dogs love to mark their territory. And that territory is basically their home. They are the second master of the yard and they will bark to deter other dogs away. They simply believe the other dog is muscling on their block.

3. Cats/ Other Animals

Many pet owners like myself have/had a mix of animals living together such as cats. Dogs, ponies, birds, Bigfoot etc. But on a normal circumstances without trained cohesion. Dogs have no tolerance for other animals especially cats. They will chase them around and bark at them until the cat is too far up the tree to realise it can’t get down.  But aside from the infamous puss. Dogs will bark at any animal insight. They care zero. They will bark at grizzly bears, mountain lions, wolves, etc.

4. Themselves
Have you ever seen your dog staring in the mirror, twisting their heads side to side and using their paws to touch the mirror trying to see if they can connect with the other dog they see? Well, dogs will bark at themselves in the mirror as they have no idea of what a reflection is and that the image they see is of themselves. So they think it’s another dog and hence the barking begins.

5. Toys
Yep, dogs will bark at their toys. Especially those dog toys that are mobile. Dogs love movable and fun toys and they will bark at the toy they are playing with because they feel excited.

How To Get Your Dog To Stop Biting

Stop Dog From Biting
Stop Dog From Biting
Dogs will bite if they are not properly trained. Puppies especially love to nip at anything their little razor sharp teeth can catch. We love our dogs, but certainly we don't want them to snap and just bite at random.  Well here are a few methods you can use to stop your dog from biting.
1. Yelling The Pain
When your dog nips at you, don't just pull away and pat him/her on the head and say bad dog while chowing down on a bowl of it's favorite dog food. Yell Ow, Ouch anything which let's your dog see that he/she has inflicted pain and needs to stop.

2. Say No and Withdraw Hand
When your dog bites or mouths your hand, you should say No firmly. And withdraw your hand. Stop any playful activity you might have been doing with her at the time which made the dog excited. The dog will begin to wonder what's wrong and probably think you are just taking a break which it is not into. The dog  will likely whine or nuzzle you to get you to start up again. Resist that puppy eyes s until the animal  calms down. Then, give the dog a chew toy. If the dog  bites it or plays with it, praise him/her and pet her. The object lesson here is “chewing on toys good, chewing on human hands is bad.

3. Get a Dog Trainer
If you do not have the patience, time or tact to get your dog to stop biting, you can hire a dog trainer who posses the skills to stop your dog unwarranted biting. Remember though, you are the pack leader and you must not only show love, but must be strong, calm and assertive and patient. Being all this while showing no aggression.

Why Dogs Sigh

Picture
Sitting on the verandah admiring my two dogs and then viola! Gust of breeze blast from my dogs' nose tearing down roofs, poles and causing wide spread........okay, let me just stop there. Maybe I will use that in my next doggy eBook. But my dogs do sigh, and the first time I saw my dogs sigh I sighed too and wondered what the heck are these two dogs sighing about? They don't have this huge car loan to pay back, they are not burdened by the repo-man coming to take back your fashionable designer shoes you trusted and never made a payment on. So why do these dogs sighing? Well after carefully observing them day in and day out and notice at what point they sigh, from natural experience I have come up with the following reasons as to why dogs would sigh.
1. Tiredness
This is one main reason why dogs may sigh. After a long day or couple hours of running a muck in the backyard, barking at ants and birds and trying to jump at the 500 feet in the air airplane. The dogs will get tired and will probably find their favorite spot to go relax. But before they settle into that relaxation mode, look out for that sigh, it may come before relaxing or while they set in.

2. Stressed Out
Dogs will sigh when they feel stressed out. So how do dogs get stressed? Well, in many ways than you think.
  • Your dog may stress if it is not feeling in the best of health and in itself knows something is wrong and simply fed-up in being that way.
  • Your dog will stress if you just got up one morning and simply changed his food he is used to and hates the new one. you will get a couple sighs from him.
  • Your dog will stress if it feels neglected and hurt and lacking attention.
  • Your dog will stress if he is spoilt and simply not getting his own way. Yeah, not getting his own way will give off a few sighs of frustration.

3. Frustration
Dogs are mammals like me and you, well , sometimes I believe I am from another plat of a different species but that too is a story for another time. Your dog may just be trying to do something and it is just not working out for him. And after several failed attempts he gets frustrated, run to his favorite spot and sighs.  So what would the dog be trying to do? How about trying to keep the ball from rolling down the slope. Trying to get to the bag of dog food on the top shelf. You know, doggy things.

4. Sigh of Happiness and Contentment
Not all dog sighs are bad dog sighs. Your dog will simply sigh out of gladness that he is contented. He is fed, cared for, has a roof over his head and a wonderful owner or family which simply loves him. Sigh! how beautiful.

5. Exhaling and Simply Relaxing
Have you ever slumped back in a nice soft snugly chair and just sighed because of how comfy and relaxed you are? Well it is the same for dogs. Dogs will sigh when they feel comfortable and relaxed as well. Especially if they have their own snugly doggy bed to relax in.

So those are the reasons why dogs may sigh, if you know of any other, just mention it in the comments, au revoir!
