What Can Dog Whistles Do

Have you ever seen hunting dogs chasing the poor fox in the bushes and swiftly behind them is a horseman following the dogs to wherever they lead? Then when he is ready to gather the dogs back together he pulls out what looks like a metal cigarette and blows in it and all the dogs ears tune into that no sound whistle and run back to the man on the horse? Well, what that man just blew is what is called a dog whistle.
How Dog Whistle Works
A dog whistle is also called a Galton whistle or the Silent whistle because us humans do not hear sounds which are emitted in ultrasonic range. But this ultrasonic range can be heard quite clearly by animals such as dogs, wolves, bears, cats etc.  This whistle was invented by Francis Galton in 1876.  The dog whistle does not emit low Khz ranges, but instead emits higher rangers from 23-55khz. This is above the range of normal human hearing as our ears have a higher frequency of 15-20Khz. When ever a human is hearing a dog whistle blow, they may just hear a little hiss.  But the dog will hear that call loud and clear.

Advantages of Dog Whistle

1. Training
Dog whistle are not heard by humans. This makes it a great tool for training dogs without having a screaming whistle being blown which will affect nearby people and even the trainer.

2. Deter Other Animals
The frequency of dog whistles can be heard by other animals such as cats, deer, bats etc. You can probably use this dog whistle to deter other animals or even break up a dog attack on someone or dogs fighting.  This can be done because some dog whistles come equipped with adjustable sliders which can be used to create different frequencies when blown. These frequencies can affect the dogs positive or in a negative way.

Dog Whistles For You

What Kind of Dog Whistle Should You Buy
If you are just a regular dog owner who have dogs that roam freely in wide open backyard or in the country area. You can get a simple dog whistle which will alert the dogs to come to you. Instead of calling all the dogs name or go looking for them, simply have their foods ready, blow the dog whistle signalling them to come and that is it.  One of my favorites is the ONSON Dog Whistle. This whistle can be used to call your pooch or blown to stop dogs from barking. It carries an adjustable pitch in black color with FREE Premium Quality Lanyard Strap.

Using the dog whistle is simple. Here are a few pointers on how to get the best out of your new dog whistle.

1. Use In Training.  The whistle is great if your dog has a hard time following any verbal commands.  This is great for grabbing the dogs attention. Use the whistle along with the spoken command for better response.

2. Decide What Your Whistle Blows Mean.  Blow the whistle in specific ways to associate it with a specific behavior. For example, if you want your dog to sit. You can use two short blows. If you want your dog to come, two long blows etc.

3. Practice Becomes Perfect. In everything you do, it takes time and effort. If you want your dog to adapt to what the whistle say, it will take practice and a bit of patience on both sides. Practice your whistle blows, eventually your canine buddy will grow to understand distinctively what each blow means. But remember, if you have chosen a pattern of whistle blows, stick to it and let it soak in you and your dogs brain before making any other changes.

Create a Easy Dog Blog
Create Dog Blog
Blogging is a passion that many people share. You have this buzzing sensation in your minds pounding out thoughts and ideas you simply have to share with others, or just with yourself and close friends.  So you decide to write about it. Back in the days before the invention of blogging.

An author would write bits and pieces of information about dogs and submit them to magazines hoping to get them published or he would try to put the info into a book which would probably sell only one copy! But then the magic happened, blogging was introduced. Well, it went through a lot more technical stuff than what I just explained. But we are not here for technicality.

We are here to create a great dog blog filled with fun and informative content about dogs and dog ownership. So let's get started with all what you need to create your first dog blog.
Blue Print of Dog Blogging
When you decide on setting up your dog blog, you MUST decide on what your main focus is on dog blogging. Are you blogging for love or profit? Well, both can go hand in hand, but blogging for profit requires a different approach to the kind of articles you publish on your blog.  Lets look at a typical example.
Picture
Blogging For Profit Article Example.

Headline:How To Pick The Best Dog Bowls.
take a good look at this blog headline. With a post like this, you can be sure to attract visitors who are seeking to find a good dog bowl for their dogs. This kind of post with the right content will also attract good ads which clients will click on which intern makes you money.
Picture
Blogging For Love Article Example.
A Story about my dog that found a doll.
This blog title is somewhat a personal title and will not draw people with dogs looking for real dog solutions. An article like this is good when you blog probably has hundred and thousands of followers. But ads on this page will not see any great profits.

So once you decide on your content focus, you will need to decide on the following factors.
  1. Domain Name (Free or Paid)
  2. Domain Hosting (Free or paid)

Free Domain Name
With a free domain Name service, you have the option of creating a free blog hosted on a free domain platform. When you host on a free domain platform, you are limited to whatever comes with that free package. so let us say that you chose one of the best domain services to host your free blog. You logged into weebly and created a blog called, dogsincarebyme. You would have to be subdomain to weebly because you did not pay for your own domain name. Your new blog would be, dogsincarebyme.weebly.com Whilst if you had paid for a full and complete domain name you would probably have a website called www.dogsincarebyme.com. So what is the main difference between the two?

SubDomain
  • You do not own your sub domain
  • There are no clear policies in place as it relates to subdomains.
  • You may get limited bandwidth.
  • Content may be deleted by domain owner.
  • Your subdomain is free at cost.

Domain
  • You are the owner of your domain
  • You are privileged to post whatever content you choose.
  • Domain host have the responsibility of protecting your content on their servers.
  • You have your own brand.
  • Better Search Engine Ranking. (People find your website better)

How To Tell if Your Dog is Sick

Dogs are quite spunky animals and just don’t lay quietly all day smelling the carpet or licking the parrot. They are capable of expressing themselves in more ways than one. As a matter of fact, dogs are quite emotional and you can tell what your dog is feeling by reading it’s emotions. But just like any other mammal, dogs are prone to sickness as well. Here are some basic tell tail signs you can use to determine if your dog is sick.
1. Lack Enthusiasm
Dogs love their owners. They express this by being spunky around the owner. They will bark, jump all around, run, lick, and wag their tales furiously when their special person comes around. If for some reason you notice that your dog lacks this kind of enthusiasm, your dog maybe ill. Try throwing a stick or a ball or even try playing with your pet. If the dog simply looks at you and sits are lays down. It’s vet visit time.

2. Stops Eating
Which dog doesn’t love to eat? Dogs will chow down at any chance they get. If you notice that your dog refuses to eat or eats way too little food. There is always and underlining issue, meaning that the dog is not well.  Examine your dogs mouth to see if everything looks OK, gently massage the animals throat to see if the dog feels any sort of discomfort. If the dog doesn’t react to feeling any physical pain, it surely is an underlining issue. Watch the dog for a day and see what happens. If he/she begins eating again, fine. If not, take your pal to the vet because your dog is sick.

3. Sleeping A lot
If you notice your dog doing way more sleeping than usual, the animal may not be feeling good. Dogs will catch cold as humans do and even may come across a fever which would cut their energy and let them behave a bit more docile. If you notice your dog sleeping much more often than usual, visit a vet and get the animal checked up on.

4. Whines and Curdles around You
Some dogs are really smart and will give you genuine signs that they are sick. They will come to you and do a bit of whining and simply curls up at your feet looking sad. We know that dogs are great actors too and will do this when they want a little treat or just try to solicit your attention. But try paying attention to those whining and see what the whine represents by giving your attention, giving the treat, or simply examining your canine pal.

5. Doesn't Bark at Other Dogs or The Mailman
Dogs love to hail or run each other off by barking their heads off. They also simply dislike the mailman or any other weird dressing character approaching your home. If you notice your dog isn't barking his/her head off at strange men, you can be sure your dog is sick.
Remember, if you observe your pet under the weather for the most two days, bring the animal immediately to the vet. It could be a simple sickness or it could be something more serious.
