There are billions of pet owners across the globe. Approximately one in every three family in America owns a dog, and why not. Dogs are beautiful creatures which make great pets. They are so integrated with the feelings of their owners and express their feelings just the same. Dogs are also one of the more useful animals on the planet. They can be trained to do so many things, from guarding, to leading the blind, to finding narcotics. One of the good thing about choosing a dog as a pet is that they also come in so many breeds. You can choose a dog as a pet based on that dogs breed traits. I myself have owned a golden retriever which i find quite adorable and playful. Once you have a dog as a pet, you must take great care of that animal as it is now become apart of the family. Here are some ways that will help you to keep your dog happy.

Keep Your dog healthy

General Health One main point in having a happy dog is having a dog that is healthy. Different breeds of dogs may develop different illnesses whether it be physical or mental. Once you notice any form of breakdown in your Dog's health, it is always good to consult your local vet and tell them about the situation to see if it can be resolved without bringing in the animal. If you feel that whatever you have tried isn't working, pack your dog in you mobile and bring it to the vet immediately.

Nutrition Having a happy dog requires that it is properly fed. This doesn't mean that you throw him five (5) pounds of meat every five minutes, but ensure that he is given the right amount of food at the right time of day and that the food he is given contains the correct nutrition which will allow him to grow healthy and strong. Over feeding you dog is not in anyway helping him. Don't allow your dog to be over weight as this can even lead to heart problems in your dog. Dogs should be lean and have a balanced weight in proportion to height and age.

Dogs are very playful creatures no matter how fierce some of them may seem. They love to go sunbathing and lawn rolling. Playing with you dog not only makes your dog happy, it also makes you or whoever is playing with the dog feels good too. Don't ever think that you are playing too much with your pet dog or he may get tired, you are the one who will need to rest your joints when he is finished with you. Dogs would play all day if they had the chance. Get a ball, Frisbee or anything safe for you to engage in playful activity with your dog. Dog Toys will come in handy when you want to take a breather. As a matter of fact, when you play with your dog it is quite easier to teach him tricks as at this point he is quite excited and literally drools for your next command.

Talk To Your Dog

Guess where you can find a shrink that you don't have to pay three hundred bucks an hour to listen to you yap? That's right, at your home. Your dog loves when you speak to him no matter what you have to say. They love to listen to their owners and feel important when you talk to them. You can speak to your dog about any problems you are having or you can speak to your dog about the hole in the backyard he keeps creating. Your dog will be more than happy to sit and listen to you and he wont be complaining anytime soon about you being too yappy.

Listen When Your Dog Talks Back Dogs actually speak to us and expect us to understand what they are saying as much as how we expect them to understand when we tell them to sit or fetch. They express their language to us in different sounds they make along with body languages which every dog owner must pay keen attention to. When interacting with your dogs, look out for the yawn, the lip lick, shake-off, the ear flick, the downward dog looking stretch, and the head turn; just to name a few! These are just some of the many cues dogs use to communicate with us each time we interact with them. If you pay close attention, even the way how the dog barks can tell you what he is saying. Steady continues barks can symbolize that something maybe wrong or danger is near. One to two barks with five second intervals can signal that he wants you to know something and you should follow him. They communicate in so many ways, you just have to take the time to understand your own dog's personality and communication methods.

Take your dog out

If you want to see that huge smile on your Dog's face that stretches from ear to ear, take out your dog and let him run wild. There are many beaches that are not so populated that are suited for letting your Dog unleash his inner dog. You can also take him to the dog park and let him hang out with his buddies there for a while, have a couple beers and pick up chicks, while the females get together and discuss puppy stuff. Dogs love to be around other dogs, except for a few who sometimes have bad tempers and seem to think that the whole park belongs to them. If you know that you have a dog that is not friendly towards other dogs, it is of its and your best interest to train that dog to be accustom to other Dogs or do not take that dog to places where he will see many and different types of dogs, places such as the Dog Park. He could be come over excited and eventually cause problems.

Allow your dog to mate

We humans seem to think that we are the only species on earth who finds it pleasurable when we copulate. Every single mammal on this earth have one specific duty on this planet and that is to mate. It is in our genetics, that is what gives us the urge to do so, a programmed activity that allows any beast to bring forth new generations. Dogs find pleasure in mating and do so all years long. They have a urge for them to create a next generation and mating is what naturally brings that urge to the playing field.

When you decide to allow your dog to mate, it is best if the mating be conducted at the male dog’s residence, because taking a male outside of his normal environment can cause insecurity and make his attention wander. Leave the dogs alone to get familiar with each other, the best place to allow them to mate is outside in the yard where there is no hindrance. It is best to just have the two handlers of each dog present when allowing them to mate. The mating process cannot be rushed. The dogs may need hours or days to become comfortable with each other. Once they are through doing their thing, you will have one of the happiest dog on the planet.

Play With Your Dog

Dogs are very playful creatures no matter how fierce some of them may seem. They love to go sunbathing and lawn rolling. Playing with you dog not only makes your dog happy, it also makes you or whoever is playing with the dog feels good too.
