The Nice Head brush
Well, dogs love it when you brush the top of their heads with your hand. It somehow drives a calm feeling into them and some dogs even fall asleep if you prolong this simple head brush technique. Open your hand and place it on your dog's head and begin a brush like motion from above his eyes to the beginning of the neck area. Do this for about a minute or two and you will notice how your dog loves the feeling of your hand suave his head. Make sure that when you brush you do not cover his eyes as that will distract the dog from enjoying his head petting thinking that he is probably going blind intermittently.
Behind the Ear Rub
Did you know about this secret spot on your dog that actually calms and relaxes him. Behind the ears of your dog is a spot that i like to call the "anesthetic dog place." Take you thumb and middle finger and form the letter "C" with it and then place those two fingers in that "C" position behind both ears of your dog and gently begin to massage with an inner and outer rub movement. Always ensure that your petting is nice and gentle as this is the way your Dog will like it. You will soon notice your dog's eyes slowly closing as he dips into a place of petting tranquility.
If your dog is lying down and you approach him and he hangs out a paw to you it is another sign that he needs a little Belly bubble petting time. This petting technique is quite simple, just use your toes to rub the under arm and belly region of your dog and watch him smile. His belly will be bubbling with pleasure as you take your toes and walk all over his underside. The best part that your dog will love is when you also use your toes to rub the upper chest area. Dogs just loved to be petted and wants it every chance they get.
Now that you have some of my beautiful Dog petting techniques why not go give you dog a little more love by trying these out on him.
