My Dog Tells Me When He Wants To Be Petted

Venom wanting petting
My dog venom is a mix breed dog. His mother is a Labrador retriever and his dad his a Rottweiler. I can safely say that he is all short of his dad’s genes. One could say that he has more bark than bite. But despite him not being that big bad and brave watch dog, he is all hearts and love. A big heart and love who seems to demand when it is petting time, how much petting he should get and when it is time to stop petting. So how does my dog tell me this? Well, he demands the attention of the hand.

Venom would simply run up and uses his nose to begin nudging your hand while leaning on you to tell you that it is time for some rub down, head patting, brushing and scratching. He will stand there with his mouth open while panting and having this devilish cheeky smile across his face stretching from ear to ear like the joker. But if you think you are regulating the amount of petting he gets you better think again. Once you stop you can be assure that the nose nudge and the leaning down will begin again, that is the symbol telling you, “Hey, what are you doing? I get to say when!” Then you have to continue the petting until he is pleased, or something gets his attention like other dogs passing by and he runs off in a fit a fury to bark at the fence.

There is no escaping it when you own a dog, you will have to spend some time showing that animal love and affection. Not only will your dog want that attention, he may just demand it by nudging your hands with his nose and leaning on you to tell you that it is his time.
