Why Dogs Love To Lay Under Cars

Dog Lay Under Car
My Dog Venom Laying Under The car
Dogs will do quite a few things which let you wonder what's next. They dig holes, bury covers, slippers and anything they deemed to be some sort of mysterious treasure. Dogs will find that little special place in the home to call their own. And that maybe the right place for you to place their doggy bed if you have an indoor dog. For me, I don’t have a doggy bed, my two dogs are outdoor dogs and there is an open garage which they take for their own, so basically they have an entire room to themselves. They are cool, safe from the elements of life such as the sun and rain. But one thing for sure is that no matter where I decide to park the car in the yard, whether it be in the garage or out in the grass, my dogs will snuff out that cozy little area under the car. I have watched them do this for years and  have come to the conclusion of why dogs love to lay under cars.
  1. It makes them feel protected
For some reason, the dogs will crawl under the car and look out and watch all the feet pass them by. They lie under there looking and watching, saying in their little doggy minds, “You van’t catch me” Sometimes they don’t make a sound until they hear or see there food plates, then they do a little bit of spider man technique and flatten themselves and scuffle from under the vehicle and bolt to the food plate in anticipation of some yummy raw dog food.
  2. It Provides Shade for Them
I guess my open garage is just not enough shade for my tow dogs Venom and Nica. They just want that cool are under the car that seems to block out heat. They have an entire garage to themselves, yes they do sleep in there often, but once the car is parked in the garage, they will find the bottom of that car to be their bed area.
  3. They Love the Smell of Car Part
What else can I say, my dogs just dig the fact that sometimes I have moving mechanical parts and those parts do give off a particular scent that may be pleasing to the dog. It may be the same way in which some people just love to smell rain or even love the smell of petrol pumping at the gas station.
  4. They hate my home made dog food recipes
I have been giving my dogs a variety of foods, sometimes when I can’t afford to by dog food I will get my doggy chef hat on and begin making them something yummy. Sometimes I have chicken skins left over and I will visit the local meat shop and beg them meat scraps. Those scraps will consist of chicken or goat liver, or grounded cow intestines. I will whip up some meat, seasoned and part done alone with a little rice and sometimes a bit of corn meal. Maybe they think my cooking sucks and is just laying under my car to end their torture
  5. They Are hunting Cats
Sometimes when our neighbors cats trespass and hop from fence to fence into others people backyards the dogs in my home and around the community will go wild. They will run, bark and do all sort of acrobatics while the cat simply sits on the fence looking down on them smiling. But of course, dogs are smart and they will have their revenge, part of that is to hunt the cat and make the cat believe no dogs are home and then spring a surprise beating

My fellow pet owners, tell my what do you think. Do your dog/s always lie under the car? Are they cat hunting? Really, what do you think?

Yes Davidson, Dogs are pretty unpredictable, but also pretty adorable.
