Why Your Dog Is Not Playing

Dog Not Playing
We know that dogs love to run, bark, and of course play.  Some dogs will actually do that more than other dogs, well, it all depend on the breed of course. But if you know you have an active and playful dog breed such as my shipoo, and notice that your dog is simply reluctant to be active or play, it could be one or more issues. Let's take a look.
Dog is Tired
Some dog owners leave their dogs all day with so much activities to do. They have the entire home to run skip, jump and bite. They are filled with dog toys of all sorts and can pick, choose, and refuse. When the owners leaves work and comes home late at nights, all the poor dog wants to do is just cuddle and sleep. A tired dog simply will not have the energy to play.

He Hates Those Toys
If your dog is not playing with his toys it could mean it's time to visit the doggy store to change those boring toys. Dogs like things it can toss, move, bite and run with. Buying a dog a Barbie doll will not get your dog as active and playful as you would like.

Feeling ill
How would you feel if you are having a pitch high fever and someone keeps tossing a ball at you to catch? Well it is the same feeling your dog would have if he is feeling any form of illness. Your dog could have a fever, physical disability or in some sort of pain. Ensure that you gently check your dog’s body for cuts and bruises. Gently press on joints and other pressure areas and see if it pains your pet. If it does, it is vet time.

Dog Not Playful
Well, not all fast cars are built the same. This can be the same for playful dogs. A dog breed would consider to be a playful breed but that dogs’ individual character says otherwise. A dog is a special animal capable of developing character other than the norm. If you have a special character dog, WOW!

Dog Depression
Depression takes away a whole lot of a person and a dog too. Depressed dogs will simply lack luster and will not be interested in doing anything much. A depressed dog will just lie around all day and will barely even eat much less play.  If you believe your dog is suffering from depression, you will need to have the animal diagnosed by a professional so he can be treated and get back to his playful self.
